THE WORD

                   YOU ARE RIGHTOUES

Last week some readers said the post was too long—I apologise. There is so much to write about,  but I will try to make it short. Enjoy.

what does it even mean to be righteous?

Righteousness in the Greek means "dikaios" which means to be pure,  blameless,  accepted by God.

Let us analyse this word for word.

PURE: a lot of folk think that being pure in God's sight is by their actions or their deeds: by what they do and do not do but let us see how Jesus defines purity.

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

We can see clearly through the scriptures that Jesus said we are made clean by the words he speaks unto us.
But What words? Because there is big difference between scripture and the word.
See this:

John 5:38-39 And ye have not his WORD abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the SCRIPTURES; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

1 John 1:1-2 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

Even in John 1 Jesus was called the word. So the word are things concerning Christ, his death burial and resurrection. Because that was what the word came to accomplish—the word are things concerning redemption. The word is Jesus himself! Glory!
Scripture is the Torah or writings of the Old Testament, but in our time, scripture is the Bible.

Jesus even made it clear in john5 we just read that,  there is no life in reading scriptures but by only having the WORD abide in you. How can that happen?  He further explains it in verse 38 of John 5 he said “...And ye have not his WORD abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.” the word abides in us by faith. By believing in Jesus as the son of God and what he has done.
See this:
1 Peter 1:22-23 Since by your obedience to the Truth through the [Holy ] Spirit you have purified your hearts for the sincere affection of the brethren, [see that you] love one another fervently from a pure heart. You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. (AMP)

Peter said it is because we obeyed the truth.  But what truth?

1 Peter 1:20-21 It is TRUE that He was chosen and foreordained (destined and foreknown for it) before the foundation of the world, but He was brought out to public view (made manifest) in these last days (at the end of the times) for the sake of you. Through Him you believe in (adhere to, rely on) God, Who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him honor and glory, so that your faith and hope are [centered and rest] in God. (AMP)

This truth!!  Glory!!! You see,  we are made pure by obeying the truth that God sent his son to die for us. Therefore we are born out of the incorruptible seed: this means a seed that sin cannot hamper,  a seed pure forever. We are born out of it.

1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

Let's bring this to a close. If you believe in Jesus, his word automatically abides in you and cleanses you.

Jesus is the one doing the cleaning not you. Accept the fact that Jesus has made you pure. That is why the "HOLY" spirit dwells in you.

Ephesians 5:26-27 That HE might sanctify and CLEANSE it with the washing of WATER by the WORD, That he might present it to HIMSELF a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
You see,  it is Jesus that does the cleansing, the purifying and the presenting to him self without spot or wrinkle.
You are pure!!! Glory to God!
Selah.
