THE WORD

JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD.
Colossians 2:8-10 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Revelation 19:13 He [was] clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

Many times engaging fellow Christians,  I find out that a lot of us are confused.  Most of the terms we use in Christiandom,  we don't even understand.  There is a lot of confusion,
leaving most of us in a gray area,  not completely in darkness,  and not also walking in the revelation and knowledge of God. And this my friends is not of God,  it is one of those dangerous strategies of Satan.
The devil is smart when dealing with Christians,  especially those that have seen a glimpse of the light.  He knows that an obvious lie would be easily detected,  so he more subtly comes with gray lines, complexities and human philosophy!  Now he boxes the Christian in the realm of the "carnal mind". So the carnal  Christian,  tries to figure God out with his mind!  More like trying to create God in his own image,  look at what I mean,  he tries to ascribe the way God would react to things by his human behaviour.  The way a father might disown a child when he misbehaves and all...  Am I making sense?  ( now don't think the carnal Christian is just the one who fornicates, drinks etc, another category of people that are carnal are people who cannot receive the simplicity of the gospel of Christ!  It doesn't make sense to them,  because they want to figure it out with their finite mind.
HOW DO WE WALK AWAY FROM THIS SNARE OF THE DEVIL.

1. KEEP IT SIMPLE: We must enjoy the simplicity of the gospel,  receive it as it is and not strive to sound good!  As Paul said I didn't come to you with enticing words of man's wisdom.  (1 Corinthians 2:1-5)... This is one of the snares that gets our heads messed up,  trying to sound good or rhyme,  and end up being messed up (ah! I just rhymed). God is not an author of confusion,  if it is always complex,  becareful,  lest you run into error,  Jesus' messages were always simple,  the apostles in Acts of the apostles always preached simple messages,  yet so powerful.  Don't  be under pressure to sound correct to humans,  don't be under pressure to add to the word of God to help him sound correct!  Remember how Eve disobeyed God by giving in to the devil's pressure.  He made God's message to them complex.  Now God never said to Eve,  don't touch the tree!  But Eve in her effort to sound grave and deep like most of us do,  said to the devil that God said they should not even touch the tree!  (Gen 3:3).
Have you ever wondered why Moses didn't make it to the promised land?  I will leave you to meditate on that (NUMBERS 20:12)

SEE THE WORD THROUGH THE EYE OF JESUS...  JESUS IS THE WORD:
Until we begin to understand that the whole scriptures points to one man,  Jesus,  we would keep misinterpreting God.  We cannot know God without knowing Jesus,  he is the express image of the Father (col 1:15, John 14:7-9). We cannot understand God through the eye of Moses nor Elijah,  nor Paul,  we must see him through Jesus,  (now the advantage Paul has is that he saw the scriptures through Jesus,  so he is a reliable source)

UNITY OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST :
We are like people standing at different points and looking at Jesus, one set of Christians might be standing behind,  of course their description would be different from those standing in front! Likewise those standing by the sides,  hence let us accommodate the different views,  but knowing with time that we would mature into a complete knowledge of him!  (Ephesians 4:13-16). But let the unifying factor be that we are all LOOKING UNTO JESUS THE AUTHOR AND THE FINISHER OF OUR FAITH!  not trying to create  tarbanacles (movements) like Peter. THE LAW MOVEMENT,  THE PROPHETIC MOVEMENT AND THE GRACE MOVEMENT!  No!  Jesus Christ fills all in all.  Infact every thing we have in the New Testament,  is IN HIM,  THROUGH HIM,  BY HIM,  FOR HIM,  WITH HIM...  Hallelujah!
... To be continued.
