SELF DISCOVERY

FIND THE CONNECTION  2

Several times I have been confronted with the question "how do you do all the things you do,  and maintain a balance between everything?"
These questions come in different forms,  and it is basically about multi-tasking. How do I wear different caps,  and they all fit!  How do I take up different roles and do well in all of them! Well for you to get a clearer picture of what I am saying,  I have to list a few roles I have,

1. I am a Christian
2. Human being
3. Student of optometry
4. Head Pastor of Showers of Grace Family Absu
5. Of course I am a blogger
4. A business consultant (not fully established)
5. Someone's son,  friend,  sibling etc
6. And a few Leadership positions and responsibilities here and there!
That's quite a few right?

So here comes the question, how do you succeed in all these things without loosing your mind!  Without making anyone suffer.
I want you say this out loud: LIFE IS MORE LIKE A SIMULTANOUS EQUATION THAN A LINEAR EQUATION. I know you probably hated those words...  But those words are very true!
Amongst all the people that have asked me these questions,  I have never really had a very satisfying answer for them, because they always want me to give them a button to press and everything would just fall in place,  they always come needing a quick fix.  But Uhm,  it doesn't work that way. It is a training,  it requires going to the drawing board.  Are you ready?  Let's go!
1. FIND THE CONNECTION:

The principle here is to find the unifying factor between all the roles. Having many roles to play and playing them perfectly is like juggling balls, I want you to picture a juggler,  his attention is not on the individual balls, like most of us do,  trying to focus on the individual roles or assignments, then combining it with the fallacy of "TIME MANAGEMENT" (ugly truth : you cannot manage time,  any effort to do so is futile.  Time is older than you!  You don't have control over it,  all you can manage is yourself). His attention is on the balance,  the grace with which he throws each ball,  he tries to focus on the rhythm,  the timing. This determines how hard or soft he throws the balls, his focus is on the unification! His focus is on GRACE,  PULSE AND RHYTHM. Not on the balls.  How does this apply to your reality,  You must find a connection between everything you are doing.  That rhythm determines how hard you hit a project,  or how soft you go with it.  FOR ME, ALL I AM DOING IS UNIFIED BY ONE WORD "TEACHING" yours might not be teaching,  it might be Money,  or Joy,  helping or whatever... There must be a unifying connection between all of them.  And this Ladies and gentleman is simply PURPOSE,  finding purpose helps unify our lives,  it sets everything we do in a beautiful pulse and rhythm.  THE CONNECTION IS PURPOSE!
Undertone of everything I do is that touch of a teacher,  I study hard,  I pray hard,  I try to stay healthy,  I love hard...  Everything is balanced for me by that unifying factor - TEACHING.
what is yours?
Have you found purpose?

2. ROLES AND GOALS:
After finding the unifying factor,  set goals for all the roles.

3. PRIORITY IS PRIORITY :
Hey, prioritize!  Everything in your life cannot get equal attention!  Which is most important and which is least important,  after setting goals for your roles,  set priorities...  It determines your pace! Opportunity costs are integral parts of life!  Not prioritizing keeps you motionless, because every project seems to drag you equally in all direction!  Hey bro something must be very important to you.  For me, MY CHRISTIAN LIFE IS MOST IMPORTANT,  AND IT AFFECTS OTHER DISICIONS.
