PSALM 23
This is one very strong prophetic revelation of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. A lot of people don't know that most of the psalms they are quoting verbatim......are just representations of Jesus Christ our Lord and what he came to do forbid on the cross and after the cross. He is the one David and the psalmists prophecied concerning. I just love to go over psalm23 it holds so much truth for me. Let us go over it and show the love of the Father manifested in the person of Jesus Christ. We would tear it bit by bit.
Side note: I just like to think, how can
The lion of the tribe of Judah be a shepherd, it doesn't just fit... A lion, a sheep keeper? He that is meant to kill me, is my protector? My judge is my advocate? This is just amazing! Glory!!
A lot of people have used this scripture to mean that Jesus came to give us material wealth only so they quote this scripture to say Jesus will give them material wealth. The truth is that the provision for our needs is In the redemption plan but beyond that Jesus came to satisfy us with spiritual blessings so that in them we are not found wanting. If it is just basically material wealth then I think Jesus didn't need to come and die because we could still get it with or without him. I mean they were rich men in his time and before him that were gentiles and unbelievers. Although it doesn't in anyway disqualify the fact that God provides for us materially. But Jesus' focus was more a spiritual filling than physical.
Ephesians 1:3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every SPIRITUAL blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
John 4:13-14 Jesus replied, "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will NEVER be THIRSTY again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." (NLT)
The promise of Jesus was a more spiritual filling. The human soul thirsted and needed a filling . Jesus came to fill it to the brim. He filled us with his spirit...Glory!! The water is the spirit.
John 7:37-39 On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'" (When he said "living water," he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.) (NLT)
we see here that the water is representing the spirit. John baptising In water was symbolic of Jesus baptising with the spirit. That's why in acts1 :5 and matt3:11 it was clear: John baptised with water the same way Jesus was going to baptize us with his spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
The lord is my shepherd I shall not want!
Because of time and space and convenience of reading, let me stop here.
We would continue Next Week. Selah.
