YOUNG CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP

THE BURDEN OF THE WORD OF GOD.

Malachi 1:1 The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.

Few days ago,  I was with this young vibrant Christian leader who seemed broken and I patiently listened to him as he lamented "God didn't show me this!  This was not what God said to me,  I saw a glorious leadership." as he continued I felt, Dear Lord,  at this point he thought probably you lied to him,  he thought,  maybe you didn't speak to him and now he is second guessing himself. As he kept talking it was as if his
volume was reduced as I sank into myself.  Many Young Christian leaders come out with fresh visions from God,  real word from the lord,  but it ends up not crystallising in the physical,  did God lie?  No!  What we have not come to understand is that there is an aspect of the word of God that is THE BURDEN OF THE WORD OF GOD! When God speaks it comes with a responsibility for the hearer,  God doesn't just give revelation to excite us! We as young Christian leaders have a great responsibility of being a watchman,  because we are in the position of receiving the word! It brings us on our knees,  it keeps us awake,  it makes us fast,  THAT IS THE BURDEN OF BEING THE LEADER! Ezekiel 3:16-17 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying, "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:

I want you to say this to yourself three times "WHEN GOD FIRST SPOKE, HE SPOKE FOR CREATION NOT JUST COMMUNICATION "

As I watched the devil harass his mind all I could just think is "brother you are perishing because there is something you don't know yet."
Genesis 2:5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and [there was] no man to till the ground;
Remember God's word had gone out in Genesis 1 for plants to grow, but we emphatically see that it didn't crystallize in the natural yet because one of the reasons is that there was no man yet to till the ground! As I watched a fellow soldier convulse with tears,  my heart went out to him and I can imagine how many Young Christian leaders are like this. I want us to go on a journey to Israel, back in time before Jesus was born...  Are you ready!  This is gonna be a bumpy ride!
Luke 1:26-38 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name [was] Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored [one,] the Lord [is] with you; blessed [are] you among women!" But when she saw [him,] she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end." Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered and said to her, "[The] Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible." Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her.

I love to believe that in the place of this encounter,  enraptured in glory and thinking in her heart that she is about to carry God's seed, she declared be it onto me according to your word! Had she known it would have led to her loosing her one true love Mr Joe,  or worse lead to her death,  because then in Israel,  getting pregnant outside marriage is shameful and a disgrace to your family, so she could have been stoned to death! After the encounter was the reality check.  But God is not mean!  Even in your case young leader.
Paul Admonishes us in Hebrews 6, be ye followers of them who through FAITH AND PATIENCE obtained the promise!  But in our generation we emphasize faith and leave out the patience of going through the process...  The Bible says Abraham patiently endured!  (well for your information,  endure is already such a strong word let alone to patiently endure)
God is not so much in a hurry to give you than to make you!  He is more interested in your BECOMING.  so patiently follow,  that you might become and obtain the promise.

...to be continued.
